SOCSoter Positioned as CMMC “Subject Matter Experts” in Channel

With the initiation of Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) compliance fast approaching, SOCSoter is positioned to be the “subject matter expert” in the Managed Service Provider (MSP) channel.  Thanks to the combination of deep dexterity in regulatory compliance and a proactive stance regarding CMMC preparation, SOCSoter offers a unique service to MSPs and their clients attempting to navigate these new Department of Defense (DoD) contract requirements.

To give some context, CMMC is a set of cybersecurity controls established by the DoD.  Five levels of compliance are determined by the sensitivity of the data contracting businesses possess and these businesses will not be able to bid on new DoD contracts without proof of compliance. Unlike many other industry regulations, CMMC does not allow businesses to self-assess, but instead requires Certified Third-Party Assessing Organizations (C3PAOs) to assess participating contractors.

Approved C3PAOs will be certified by the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification Accreditation Body (CMMC-AB), a not-for-profit third-party organization.  SOCSoter is among the first wave of organizations to receive this accreditation and is already assisting partners with gap assessments necessary for compliance.

Small to mid-sized businesses being asked to comply with CMMC often lack the expertise, knowledge and funds to successfully implement programs to address these concerns.  By partnering with MSPs, SOCSoter brings a cost-effective managed compliance program and Software as a Service (SaaS) application to the channel.  What’s more, SOCSoter’s Managed Detection and Response (MDR), US-based Security Operations Center/Security Incident and Event Management (SOC-SIEM), Vulnerability Scanning and Penetration Testing help small businesses meet many of the CMMC requirements.

“Most small business owners don’t know where to start in meeting these requirements or understanding technology needs. When MSPs partner with SOCSoter it is a powerful relationship that creates an easy-to-follow roadmap to help get customers compliant. Plus, customers have a team that is always available to help answer questions.” Says Eric Pinto, Senior Director of the Channel.
